Soccerhead has created the Soccerhead Player Index Number (S.P.I.N) A unique index that categorizes a players highest playing level and the level of player that a University or College Program recruits.
The lower the number the "Higher Level" the player.
For example here is the 2011 Division 1 North East Women's Soccer Recruiting Class:
Colgate Avg 5.5
Uconn Avg 5.75
BC Avg 6
Yale Avg 6.1
Dartmouth Avg 6.33
Columbia Avg 7
Boston University Avg 7.6
Quinnipiac University Avg 9
Fairfield Avg 9
Bryant Avg 9.4
Central Avg 9.5
Brown Avg 10.42
Sacred Avg 11.2
Hartford Avg 13.6
The SPIN Number is an indicator as to whether a player will be likely recruited by a University and if they could receive "Athletic Scholarship" money from the the College or University.
For example a player with a SPIN Number of 3 will be recruited and looking to receive scholarship money from all of the above schools (if they also qualify academically)
Is it accurate? The SPIN number is outstanding at predicting exactly the "type" of College you can play at. Don't waste valuable time and money chasing a dream. Within minutes Soccerhead can create a list of schools that not only you can play at but can potentially offer scholarship money.
For example Paula Hagopian (CT Class of 2012) - SPIN Number 5 - Just recently committed to Yale (SPIN Number 6.1)
or
Rachel Blauner (Mass Class of 2012) - SPIN Number 3 - Just committed to Boston University (SPIN Number 7.6)
